Thanks everyone for the kind comments. The banjo has a 12" rim, I rolled my own tone ring and tension hoop from brass stock. The fretboard is rosewood with a brass overlay up to the 7th fret position. Presently has fiddle pegs but I plan to sell it so will add better quality pegs.
Its really fun to play, I have been trying to get used to playing with my fingernails on the strings like some folks do to get a brighter sound. One neat thing is the remarkable Dobro sound I can get from slides.
The scale is 25.5" matching my fretted model. I found my intonation is better by not looking at the fingerboard. Playing chords is real interesting without frets.
A favorite Youtube video of mine is Tommy Jarrell playing a banjo that inspired my build. He plays Cumberland Gap, look that one up when you get a chance... Robert...

Nice looking banjer, Robert! I have one like that myself, made by Mike Ramsey.
What metal did you use for the plate?
Very nice flamed maple neck, btw!
