Really interesting Robin. You explain things very well. By the way, Australian make Richard Troughear also makes his dulcimers with fiddle edges, which I agree does look lovely. The one I have, made by him, does sound quite different to my Ron Gibson ...http://dulcimers.com.au/

I'd like to take the opportunity to thank you...it was largely from reading your posts and watching your videos both here and on ED about your pre-revival replica dulcimers that I decided to get the Will Singleton replica from John Knopf.
