Yes, John, it really is a lovely dulcimer. The woman from whom I got it had stated the dulcimer had been played perhaps ten times. When I took delivery of it, based solely on the condition, the instrument appeared as though it could have come straight from the luthier's shop!
Beautiful, Robin - and so much more satisfying and appropriate without the fretboard inlay that normally comes with this model.
