Strumelia, BJ, and Dusty, I wanted to share a photo of this painting with folks here at FOTMD because it is so wonderful. @monica used an exquisitely soft color selection and just the right brush strokes to convey what Dusty's words express about the composition.
Yes, I love the softness of the colors, too. The composition is also interesting. Although the musician is inside, with nothing but the chair she sits on and her dulcimer, the way the window leads to a river heading off into the horizon connects the woman and her music to the wider world.
This wonderful painting was done by Monica Kovac. Though Monica had to give up playing MD due to joint problems with her thumb, she paints beautifully. Her works have an ethereal quality which draws me to them. When she had this painting for sale, I was fortunate to be able to purchase it.

So tell us about this painting, Robin! Such a lovely atmospheric mood. I love the colors and the softness of the brushstrokes.
