I am so sorry it took so long to get back to you. I've been ill the last few days and didn't much feel like computering. (that's my word)
As a matter of fact, I love playing Farther Along, noter/drone style. Always have, always will. Like you, on my spruce McSpadden with 3 strings.
But even more, I enjoy playing Farther Along, chord style. I just love the 3 and 2 finger chords. Perhaps I'll try noter/drone in DAA. Might change my mind.
I don't usually play it as slow as I did in this video. But that was at a time when I was feeling blue, because of health issues I've experienced lately. I just seemed to slow everything down, kind of like a prescription medicine, for me personally.
I am currently practicing several slow play songs. Gentle up strokes. Oh Shenandoah, is one. Practicing the music that Linda Collins suggested in her book, Back to Basics, my go to book.
Cynthia Wigington: So lovely Terry and real nice to see you so comfortably playing that McSpadden. It was a prayer to listen to. Really want a nice baritone uke these days...about to lose control over that obsession. Guess it's a case of Uad! I'm going to go look up that tab, too pretty.
Thank you Cynthia. I really love my McSpadden. So you want a baritone uke? I have one, and play it often. I keep it in the same tuning as my other ukes. My obsession with ukes is kind of passed, but I still strum a little most days.
I'm back into loving on my dulcimer again. I have more fun with the uke, but the dulcimer is so satisfying. Hard to explain.
Thanks all of you for your kind comments. I find myself playing gospel songs really slow most of the times. Even I'll Fly Away. Each song is kind of like a prayer. Sometimes when I am playing, all along in my world, at times I feel I'm having my own little church service. Like being in my closet, except I might be on my patio or dock, or man cave. I think most of you know what I'm talking about.

Good luck with this tune.
Ever use drone/noter for this piece? I have been messing around on my two McSpaddens and some home-mades trying to make this sound a bit more twangy.
Your dulcimer sounds so nice with your fingers, do you find there is a big difference if you use a pick?
Thank you for your kind words.
Playing with your fingers produces a much purer sound than using a pick. That said, I still use a pick 75% of the time.
I finger pick/strum mostly when I feel a need to play a particular song a certain way to draw the music within me.
Blessings to you
Terry
Why thank you Mary. It's not much, just quietly messing around with technique.
Thanks Greg. Mighty kind words there.

Morning Has Broken, is another.
Merry Christmas back at you.
Those Are some sweet chords for that song, Terry, and some nice gentle playing, too! Merry Christmas!
