Cindy, that's like asking a parent to choose a favorite child. Of the two full-size dulcimers, the Blue Lion continues to impress me with the bass response and sustain. I tend to use the Blue Lion for fingerpicking and the Laurel Mountain for flatpicking. The two little ones are so different that you really can't compare them. The six-string baritone dulcimette is great for fast-paced fiddle tunes. It has a really even tone and more bass than you would expect for a small instrument. The Eedy Beede is so small it is limited in its usefulness, for you are limited for all practical purposes to one octave, but the sound is just tremendous; the strings ring out like little chimes. And the dolphin soundholes are both elegant and precious. Someday I hope to add a full-size baritone dulcimer to the mix. Whether I go back to Ron Ewing or Blue Lion or find someone else, I don't know.

What a lovely family of instruments!
