This definitely one of my favorite tunes and love the story that goes along with it. I understand McPhearson was a sort of Robin Hood fellow, depending on which version you read. I love the tone on your instrument and well played. Thanks for sharing it with us.

I'm glad to have found this, Gregg.  I decided to learn this tune today and searched to see if there were any versions I could pilfer from. grin Nice playing, as always. 

Incidentally, I was just reading an old article (well, not as old as the song) on the "hanged fiddler" legend and this tune is mentioned as the oldest recorded version of the genre.
