AKA Sean O Duibhir An Ghleanna
I arranged this beautiful slow Irish Air for two fretted dulcimers. (Second dulcimer doesn't come in until about 3:10) .
Thank you to Cyntia Smith for all her brilliance in helping me write the counter melody.
I’m playing an Aeolus Dulcimer built by Dale Foye of Aeolus Instruments.

Thank you so much, @david-pedersen!
Really sweet music.
Thank you so much, @marion-seaman ! Yes, just the one microphone. I record the video with a zoom video camera and its microphone, while also recording the audio through the mic and into Logic Pro Audio on my mac. Then I use a program called Adobe Premiere to sync the higher quality audio in logic to the video. I import the synced video/audio into logic as a new file. Then I can add any room effects etc I want. This one has two dulcimers so I used a second track to record the counter melody.
Since I don't have a sound studio, there's lots of street noise etc. and, I have to use a single take since it's a video. If I were working in a studio making an album, I'd be doing many takes so that I could have it be more "perfect" probably, but I actually kind of like the little mistakes. I think it adds lots of character to a performance.
Thank you @helen-seiler
Thank you so much, @Lexie-R-Oakley !
That is lovely, I really enjoyed it Guy.
Thank you so much, @Ginney-Camden, and @Terry-Wilson!
Pleasant to the ears. My my, that was nice.
That was really pretty. Thanks for sharing it.
Thank you so much, @John-P Yes, it's indeed known by that name as well. Regardless of the title used, there is often some sort of refrain saying, "Ah, but Sean O'Duibhir an Gleanna, we were worsted in the game."
These old airs are nice on the dulcimer, aren't they?
Very well played Guy, sounds like a lot of work went into that.
I know this tune as 'After Augrim's Great Disaster', but it's not one I play much - not very N/D friendly, but OK with a 6+.
I've been playing slow airs and tunes from the 'Gaeltach' lately, there are some real beauties out there.
Aw! Thank you @Dusty-Turtle!
Impeccable! Two Guys are better than one! Beautiful arrangement!
