That'd be delightful, Janene! Though I live with my parents much of the week, my weekends are, usually, free. Mark & I can travel a bit from home here in SEOhio to play a few tunes. :)
Thanks Robin...and that was my thought...maybe we can venture on to Ohio with our motor home some time...any nice parks around there? I'll have to find u on a map. Jam around a campfire or something

Your voice was made for lap dulcimer accompaniment!
PS- Maybe we can meet in-person sometime when you're in OH again.
That's so precious...her "best friends" heart. I notice in the ring I show...there is a little heart(I think)and the hands clasp together holding the heart. These are so special! The rings had inscriptions that could only be read when put together too. I guess your daughter's heart was based on a lovely'olde' custom.
MY daughter has a "best friends forever" necklace that she shares with her friend. The pendant is in the shape of a heart that is broken in half, and each girl has one half. Only when they are put together can you read the "best friends forever" inscription. OK, so it's not as romantic as lovers forced to part, but the "broken token" part is the same.
It's nice to see your playing here, Janene. And you sound just as beautiful as you did in the first attempt to post this tune.
That is so pretty, Janene. Lovely playing an singing. Now, further down the story...is there solder or crazy glue involved so they can rejoin the two halves of the piece they broke
Since the description from YouTube was truncated, I've pasted the entire broken token explanation here:
A "broken token" ballad, where lovers break something in half and each retain a piece until they can be reunited and the pieces joined again. In this case a ring. From what I read, some common themes are, (1) they are usually parted 7 years (period of military inscription, or an apprenticeship) (2) He is not recognized by her upon his return, due to finer clothes and bearing etc. (3) they are usually reunited in May...this song just indicates summer time

John, thanks so much
Janene, I don't want to sound like a broken record, but your voice and the dulcimer are just a perfect fit. Another great job!
Very nice.
