Janene, you did it.....and nailed this beautiful song.  Voice, music, everything, just perfect.  Thank you very much.

Over the last 3 years or more, I’ve performed this song probably a dozen times.  I’ve never put music to it.  Always as a “story.”  Unfortunately, I don’t have your voice, so I talk it through,

Brought to my attention by @terry-Wilson. Have listened to many versions since and decided to memorialize this very simple version on dulcimer. Such a lovely song, poignant lyrics, haunting melody. Hard to do it justice.
