"Dheanainn Sugradh" is an example of a Scottish "waulking song" (with a "u"), or a song that was meant to accompany the process of pounding wet, loose, newly woven tweed fabric to tighten it. It features repetitive, hypnotic verses and refrains, and in my arrangement, a few bridges to add variation. (C-F-C, Capo 1)
Hi Jessica , would you happen to still have the tabs available for this piece ..or any other songs. I hope one day you put together a book. I would be more than happy to buy it. Your music is an inspiration.
Hypnotic- really good! :-)
Oh, thank you, Dusty! I just discovered your comment... Yes, this song tends to propel itself once I get started! :-)
Very pretty, Jessica. And yes, "hypnotic" is the right word.
Thank you, Stephanie! :-) It was a fun change to play a song thatused rawfingerpicking. I would usually use picks, but this one simply demanded bare fingers!
I'm so glad you enjoyed my song, Marion! :-) Thank you!
Thank you, Helen, and thank youfor listening! :-)
*Laughs* Oh, you are so nice, John! Thank you! :-D
Thank you again, Karen! :-)
Thank you, James! I appreciate that... :-)
Thank you so much, Rob! I'm glad you took the time to listen. :-)
Carrie, I'm glad you like it! This song is so much fun to play! It just sort of happens... couldn't tell you how! :p
You're welcome, Nila! :-) Fingerpicking seemed to be the best approach for this song; I usually use a flatpick or fingerpicks. If you are interested, Ido have basic tab for this song but for a different arrangement and key (just to get started!).
Just beautiful, Jessica.
Oh, thank you, Guy! I'm glad to be able to share it! :-)
Wayne, it's good to see you here, too! Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed it! :-)
I've said it before and I'll say it again...I love it!
That was beautiful!
Very nice!
Well, Jessica, another interesting piece, beautifully played. Great Job
