I am very happy to be able to share this piece with you! It is a 14th century dance piece that was typical of the Middle Ages and Renaissance; it is simply k...
I love this! Heard it in concert (Dead Can Dance) a while back. Sounded familiar and I couldn't place it at first.
I admire how you make your instrument sound--this looks so difficult to play. And the blooper at the end. OMG, you *are* human, after all! You play so magnificently, hard to imagine you slipping. But now I've seen and heard it. :) What a relief, LOL!
Thank you, Terry! *Laughs* Yes, there's always more to the story of recording than what we hear in the finished product! I thought it might be fun to share some of the amusing things that can happen, especially when you're trying to play something challenging!
Oh, thank you, Mary! I'm glad my song made you happy! *Laugh* I'm glad the bloopers went over well, too! At first, I wasn't sure, but in the end, I think it's important not to take yourself too seriously! :-)
*Laughs* Oh, yes! It is important to start out on the right track... You can't overthink what you're doing because otherwise it won't happen, but you have to concentrate just enough so you don't blow it! :-) It is such a fun song to play, though! The hardest passage shows up just enough times so that you get the hang of it. Thank you, Randy!
I sure like this tune here Jessica...sounds hard! Some of those chords you get are really sweet...as in....sour but sweet....nice playing here.....f'sure....
If the 1st note is bad things go downhill quick huh?.... : )
Thank you, Rob! *Laugh* I tried to find the most authentic version possible on which to base my version. I realized that most of the performances I had heard were simplifications of the original, but I wanted to base mine on the original. It varies slightly in a few places, but I wanted to make sure all the parts were included (A-through-D), including the unusual, crooked parts! :-)
Thank you, Benjamin! I hadn't ever heard this piece on the dulcimer before. I'd heard it on woodwinds and the rebec, but I was pleased to be able to work out an arrangement for mountain dulcimer as well!

*Smiles* Thank you, Joann! You are very kind... Thank you for listening!

Enjoyed your song Jessica. The bloopers at the end brought you live to us.
Thank You.
Thank you for lending me your ear, Louis! I'm happy to have been able to share my song with you! :-)

That's beautiful, Jessica. Thanks for sharing!
Another gem, Jessica. The classical guitar ensemble with which I play does a version of this. I'll have to say I prefer to listen to yours!
Thank you so much, Wayne, and thank YOU for listening! :-)

Thank you, Carrie! I think it's good to laugh at ourselves sometimes and not take ourselves too SERIOUSLY. :p
Hauntingly beautiful.
Thank you, John! *Laughs* Yes, my Mom was the one filming the video, so she was laughing along with me! I really had to concentrate on those runs!
