Thanks Ariane, Ben, Dean.  Appreciate the kind words.

DT.... Yeah, I think I remember seeing Jesse Fuller on TV, although I believe it was Ramblin' Jack Elliot's version that was the 1st one I heard.  Thanks for your comments as well.  I think we need to get some "filler licks" going when we accompany vocals.  Shoot, we do it on guitar, don't we?  As for "spirit,"  I like to get into the song and maybe have the song get into me.

I used to do this old Jesse Fuller tune on the guitar.  Have you seen the old videos of him playing it?  He was a one-man band and played some kind of bass with pedals that he pushed with his feet.  Check it out:
