This tune by Lowell Mason is commonly called, "When I Survey the Wondrous Cross". Isaac Watts wrote the words to this hymn in 1707 and Lowell Mason composed the tune in 1824 and published it in 1825. Hamburg, named after the city in Germany was based on a Gregorian Chant. Since 1825 it has been used to accompany 345+ hymns and published in 1750 Hymnals according to Hymnary.org. Played on a Pritchard reproduction built by Kevin Messenger.
