Tumbleweed- so great! I've tried to play bones several times over the past few years, but kept stumbling. Now after my lesson I'm finally seeing some progress, and I just have to keep up with practice. I think with bones, one tends to get better naturally through even just practicing without thinking about it too much...with stringed instruments I've had to keep my practice just a little more focused in my thinking. So I believe that will work in your favor too if you keep practicing.
It was just pure luck that Dom and his group was coming to the performance space in my own town...and that I found out about it in time, and was able to contact them to arrange for a private lesson before they left town again. Everything came together so nicely...what a huge treat for me.
Wow, that's so cool. I saw Dom on You Tube and have watched his video a million times. I bought two pairs of bones and carry them with me everywhere. I have a ton of the Carolina Choclate Drops music on my IPOD. I go to my car at break and practice to their music.
Wow, Lisa, you will now be known as the "Bones Lady". What kinda Bones are used? I know what kind Samson had. Two jaw Bones and you could rattle the teeth together
I'm not much good yet, but at least I have the basic triplets going more solidly now, with both hands. Before it was very irregular.
I like to think this little hamster smiley is playing the bones, lol:
You absolutely deserved the treat! Glad you got the niche of it.

Way cool, Strumelia! I've seen Dom a couple times and he's a wonderfully talented fellow.
