Getting an awesome Bones playing lesson from Dom Flemons (of the Carolina Chocolate Drops) right in my house!
Well now I have to check out this Trio. I love Dom's music. Thanks for this info Lisa Lisa. If we ever meet in person we can jam on the bones together!
Lisa, your time with this bunch sounds absolutely FUN!
It sounds like you, Brian and the guys had lots of fun and I am sure the group appreciated the nice breakfast for the great music lessons.
Yeah we went to their concert right in my hometown saturday night, and then we had them over to our house for a sunday morning breakfast- Brian and I cooked them a BIG country breakfast, and then Dom gave me the intensive two hour bones coaching session in our livingroom. wheeee! I've been trying to learn bones for several years, always hitting a wall...now with my new tips maybe i can make a breakthrough if I practice a lot.
These fellows were just sooo sweet and so talented . I got the fiddle/bass player Brian Farrow started on playing limberjack, too - he had mentioned he was dying to learn how to do limberjacks. Gave him an extra limberjack I had 'lying around the house' and gave him a few playing tips...lol...he was so happy!
Our blueberries are in full harvest rright now too, so they each got a 'party favor' bag of blueberries to take on the road to DC when they left. Gosh we had fun! Even Rufus the cat was happy- like a dog, he never left their side -you can see the top of Rufus' back in the photo at bottom.
Excellent! I saw Dom play with the Carolina Chocolate Drops two years ago - fantastic!
That's fantastic! Dom is a master at so many instruments. And he's got a vast repertoire. I'm sure it was unbelievable to hang out with him.
