Shenandoah - international online music project

musician/member name: Music
Duration: 00:04:07
description:
"Shenandoah" is an online music project with 31 musicians from USA, Canada, UK, Australia, Austria and Germany playing mountain dulcimer, hammered dulcimer and bowed psaltery.

The idea for it was posted 2 months ago in relevant dulcimer facebook groups and forums in the USA and Germany.

Within few days around 45 musicians have shown interest to take part and based on a facebook survey with 19 traditional folk tune proposals the lovely tune "Shenandoah" became the winner.

For easy communication the facebook group "Online Music Projects - Dulcimer & more" has been created for this and further projects.

Only the following specifications for the recordings were given: Key of D, tempo of 60 bpm, 3 rounds of playing.

After I have received recordings from 31 musicians I have taken 2 measures of everybody and have placed them in a row in order to create these 5 rounds of "Shenandoah" followed by a wonderful outro.

It was a great pleasure and joy for me and I hope that you like the music and video as much as I do.

I would like to thank all participants for their enthusiasm, musicality and time for this project - here they are in alphabetic order:
