Description:

Another sad Welsh folk song played on my walnut McSpadden DAD. Don't know if anyone is interested in the words, but I've provided the Welsh lyrics and a rough translation. Not sure where they appear on the web page though. If you find them, you'll see that we Welsh are a suppressed lot!

This song reminds me of the great country singer Hank Williams. He would've sung it well, probably with some good "hurtin" lyrics.

rtin'" lyrics..

It’s odd you should say that! There is a Welsh language group called Cowbois Rhos Botwnnog who do a country style version of it. Check out this YouTube video of them singing it with Gwyneth Glyn

Forget that,Beth. There are so many more beautiful Welsh songs and melodies other than what I requested(Calon Lan,Myfawnwy)...bit like asking an American to play "Turkey in the Straw".. Jamie.

Hi Jamie - had to laugh when I read this comment! I've had a go at Myfanwy - it's a bit rough as I haven't had much time to practice it, but I'll upload it anyway. I've also uploaded a few lullabies and carol tunes. Thanks for your interest! :-)

Thank you for listening!

In our house, we've needed soothing music the past several years.  We have some tunes which are relaxing to play and we hope others may find them relaxing, too.

Beautifully played, Beth.

Thanks as ever for your interest and support Robin. :-) I haven't been on the FOTMD site much in the last few months, but I'm now catching up with latest activity. I've been listening to some of your audio files - they're so soothing!
