I acquired this from a young lady in Indiana. She got it from Clifford, so it is a one owner. "Monkey Face" poplar and black walnut. Holly inlayed hearts.
BEAUTIFUL. I'm gonna be looking for some of that "monkeyface" wood. My dad and brother used to call me that in an "endearing" way. It's a well made instrument. how's the sound...is the fret board still straight?

Monkey Face has to do with the way knots grow through one another. In some pieces they resemble "faces".
Thanks for the information, Dan. That stuff is really spectacular.
Beautiful dulcimer...sounds good, too.

Very beautiful dulcimer Dan, it sounds great. First for me to see this wood, looks like a keeper.

Boy, that thing is really pretty. Please tell us about "monkey face." I haven't heard the term before.
Way cool, Dan! Those Holly inlays are pretty sweet.
