musician/member name:Dusty on ukulele Duration:00:02:32 description:
An original composition played on the uke but intended for fuller instrumentation, as indicated in the chorus. I struggle to write songs that say something, but a "generic" song such as this comes out a lot easier.
Nice song and I love the ukulele. I just took up uke in May this year. As you have discovered, the uke is a nice addition to settle in with the dulcimer. Love it, love it, love it.
Thanks so much, Lexie, Bob, and Steve. I appreciate your taking the time to listen and comment.
Bob, when I play this on the guitar it has a completely different rhythm and you don't have the island feel, but more of a hard-driving, honky-tonk groove. I am just not a versatile enough ukulele player to do much of anything other than what you see here.
Actually I think the uke gives it a kind of laid back island feel. It might be too heavy with a whole band. It's like you escaped from the delta and ended up on Key West.
Thanks, Helen. I play the guitar, so I can fake the ukulele pretty well. Real ukulele players can tell that I don't know what I'm doing, but I fool other people , including myself.
Thanks, Terry. I played guitar for many years so a little transposition gives me plenty of ukulele chords to play around with.
Hi Dusty

Thanks so much for listening, Christine, and Patty! It means a lot that you took the time to comment.
Loved it Dusty! It really works well on the Uke!
That is just great!!! You are a man of many talents. You do well on that uke!!!

Hey that's really good Dusty!!!

I really enjoyed your cute song and you in your hat, great one Dusty!
Dusty, there a vibes in the universe that just gel. Guess that's ours.
Ken, not only are we twins, and not only do we sing the same songs, but we were just now listening to each other's videos at the exact same time.
You're starting to scare me.
Dusty, a real fine funny "hey, man" type song. Well done! I fake the autoharp, you can fake that uke pretty well.
Thanks, John. I don't have your sense of humor in songwriting, but hopefully the tune works anyway.
Awesome work! I'm diggin' it!

And yeah, that's my new favorite hat.
