Salt Springs: I use donuts as the foundational materials. Three or four more dozen of those little fried lard balls rolled in powdered sugar and I'll be there.
that brought me to tears! My first thought was you were using some kind of foam "donuts" then I kept reading...
I was wondering about that gizmo you have been wearing.......that is a great idea!
Until you get those things made up and marketed I am going to keep working on my own design. I use donuts as the foundational materials. Three or four more dozen of those little fried lard balls rolled in powdered sugar and I'll be there.
Very cool! Yeah, I had to do a double take there...
I stumbled upon the idea when I was getting rid of an old laptop desk. It was made of bent wood but I thought "what if...". It worked so well I had a plastics company make one for me in acrylic. A single one cost a ton but they told me I could get a great deal in lots of 25 or larger.
I got so many excited comments at the Championships that I've decided to setup a page so I can collect orders so people can get them at a reasonable price.
It opens up a whole new world - even walking a trail or in the park while playing is something I've always wanted to do. You can literally be a traveling minstrel!
What you can barely see is my DulciMozy™: the nearly invisible shelf I wear around the waist to support the dulcimer. I still use a strap like normal to keep the dulcimer on the shelf but you can't see it. It's like the dulcimer is floating on air.
But this allows dulcimer players to stand up with all the cool kids! lol
