That curly maple has such a beautiful, rich tone! Yum!
One of the features of McCafferty dulcimers that I really appreciate is the extended strum hollow. Most of us strum out over the fretboard because traditional strum hollows are too small and too far up the dulcimer's fretboard to be comfortable. And those tiny frets up high on the fretboard are rarely usable anyway. Terry's extended strum hollow works perfect for me!
Jan, that is a BEAUTIFUL dulcimer! So many pretty elements all working together- I love the graceful lines, the color of the Curly Maple and the lovely purfling. I imagine it sounds amazing. Looking forward to hearing you play it soon (so heal-up quickly!!).
