The pandemic created a very unusual school year for the HMS Folk Strings this time around. Though restrictions prevented us from performing in public, we hope that you will enjoy a tune from seventeen first year players and our three second year players who participated as "in-person" learners this year.

Wow, the kids did great, John-- so cool!  So glad you shared this!  Music has been a gift to so many, both during easy times and hard times yet, especially, it can take on a different meaning to us all during hard times.  

Thanks Robin!  This school year has been a challenge (to say the least) for the group.  The first semester found us split in half with each half only allowed to come to school two days a week.  That eventually changed to everyone together for four days a week before we were finally able to meet every single day as a unit.  I couldn't be more proud of them under the circumstances.  The one positive about a lack of performance obligations is that we got to cover a ton of literature, so these folks know some tunes!  We appreciate you taking the time to check out our progress!
