I just got onto this site and saw this one right away. I can see I've got hours to catch up on and as i got all teared up saying, "I've just found a bunch of friends........and I'm gonna meet as many as I can". I'm wanting to make a Tennessee Music box and I've been looking at them on line. Seeing this one....gonna do that too. My grandfolks came from Harriman, Tenn. and that is why I took up the dulcimer years ago, thinking that more ancestors and friends played these.

I'd love to hear it, Randy! Is that a pick-up or strap button?

Thank you Robin, the one I built was twice as deep, had a 1 1/2" x 1 1/2 fretboard, and is tuned from the 'bridge' end, this next one is as near as I can get it without seeing one, much more like the originals. I hope!!!JohnH
@IRENE
So good to have you here at FOTMD! Box dulcimers are wonderful and are fun to play. I hope our paths cross sometime-- we could strum tunes!
