Y Pibydd Du/The Black Piper

musician/member name: People & Blogs
Duration: 00:01:39
description:
Y Pibydd Du (the Black Piper), a Welsh folk tune played on a Folkcraft H series dulcimer (walnut/Engelmann spruce), tuned DAD. All the other versions I've heard of this take it at a much faster and jauntier speed, but I hear it in my head more like a piper's lament.

That is gorgeous.Must be or have been a song.

I think it's a lovely tune too when played slowly. If you google it, you'll find other versions where it's played like a dance tune. But I think it's more of a piper's lament.
