Three years ago today I first got a mountain dulcimer. This is the second of three videos I am posting today to celebrate the event. My version of "Home on the Range" is inspired by Stephen Seifert's version available at the Dulcimer School. For the Dulcimer School: http://www.dulcimerschool.com/
John, since I still have the receipt for my first dulcimer, it's easy to keep track. Plus, I posted a couple of vids on my one year anniversary, so the record is easy to find.
Robin, Dave, and Cheryl, thanks so much for listening.
That was beautiful!!
Cheryl
Lovely
I'm glad someone else keeps up with dulcimer birthdays...I'll be two in August. I love how you play in a very musical and tasteful style...just top notch!
Karen, Kimberly, and Randy, thanks so much for your comments. Your encouragement means a lot.
You make that melody fun to listen to Dusty...nice playing there...
Very pretty and restful! Great!
Thanks, Ronnie and Mandy. I hadn't thought consciously of playing it like a hymn, but I see what you mean. Thanks for listening.
Very nice, and I feel that hymnal quality as well. Love the high parts there too!!
Maybe sheep count dulcimers to fall asleep. Thanks, Carrie. I sometimes play this even slower than I do here. One of my goals is to develop a really slow, patient, harmonically interesting version of "Oh Shenandoah," and I was thinking of this song as practice for that.
