Like the shape of the head, Bob. It's a good looking instrument all over but that modified Bigsby head is really cool. Maybe we need to talk; I'm sure liking the looks and videos of your instruments.
Thanks Rob N Lackey- Thanks! that tuning head concept was actually designed by the customer- he wanted the lines to follow the flow of the dulcimer body. It was a great idea!
I had never made a flat tuning head and he gave me some great advice. Much less carving than my scroll tuning heads, which is a nice break from the norm. I will be happy to talk about any ideas you have also :-)
Aloha Irene! Thanks for your kind comments again It would be great to see some of the work you are doing. Sharing here is always a positive experience for the folks posting and the folks enjoying what's being shared! I am hoping to hear this dulcimer being played soon by a very good musician and member of our FOTMD community. I wish I could make these things sing as nicely as he can!

ANOTHER FABULOUS DULCIMER. I sure wish I could try these out myself and hear their voices. I love the color you put on the soundholes. Today I cut out 4 happy hearts on the dulcimer I'm making. This takes a pile of time...with the scroll saw. whew...made it. I'll see if I can take a photo that is small enough for this forum. I've made all my dulcimers and one music box with 4 strings....two melody. I'll string this one up with only one and play it awhile to see what I think of just one on the melody. Thanks for all you teach us by you making your beautiful dulcimers and the clear photos of them. aloha, irene
