That looks tremendous, John. Really cool. I just heard Michael Rugg play a song at Redwood Dulcimer Day that was the story of the European conquest of California from the perspective of Big Foot. And I agree with Randy. A really nice dulcimerwith intricate but humorous design is perfect for you. I love those footprints on the fretboard. So cool!
The whole thing is an experiment (albeit a FUN experiment). I had an idea about a tribute FolkRoots dulcimer centered around Bigfoot and the Mike Rugg connection (his Bigfoot museum is in the CapriTaurus building). I bounced some thoughts to Richard Ash...he bounced some thoughts to Steve Ash...they bounced some thoughts back to me and then everything got REAL quiet lol. There is definitely a bit of humor involved, but the actual inlay work is just amazing. There are 76 Bigfoot prints inlayed in various places on this thing.
Thanks Rob! Patty, I'll do that! It won't make me a better jammer, but it'll make for an interesting diversion while I try to figure tunes out lol!
John, let us know when it arrives...do a video
It's a true work of art!
Thanks Jim! Cheryl, I had an idea...Richard liked it...weird stuff started happening...Steve got involved...yes, ultimately it will come to live here.
very nice John.
Is it being made for you John??
Cheryl, they are really outdoing themselves on this one!
WOW!! I don't know what else to say...stunning!
Update! The peghead has been replaced by one with a different shape...hmmmm...
Thanks Chuck! Kinda looks like Bigfoot is playin' hopscotch up the fretboard lol.
John, this might be the coolest thing I've ever seen! Folkcraft rocks!!
Thanks Dusty! I would have LOVED to hear that song!
