David M ! I have read somewhere (on here?) that it has been said that upward pointing hearts send suitable music (hymns and the like?) straight to heaven , while those that point the other way direct unsuitable music (dance and suchlike ?) to another place ?

Well, it sure is something! It's cool how on the old ones how the hearts sometimes go the other way around
Thank you David. The dulcimer is made of all Walnut, and I did make the wooden tuning pegs.

Kevin, it's a beauty top to bottom! Sure would be a privilege for anyone to get to play it!
Thanks, Jim, anb Bobby. Thanks John Henry, I may have to do some salvage of that door, it is about 40 year old Poplar. As for the fretting, I used 28" mean tone. I am going to have to figure out some of the other vsl in mean tone.
Thanks Bob.
Looks like a keeper... Bob...
Thanks Ken, just as soon as I get my corn put up I will post something.
What a fine build, Kevin. A great looking instrument. I like the hearts that are pointed up, just like on a Thomas. Waiting for the video.....

Close enough for me, Kevin. Very nice!
Nice one Kevin ! It looks nearly as old as that durned door, lol. What fret pattern did you use ?
John
Thanks Colleen and Patty. I tried to copy the carving on the peg head as close as I could.
A little adjustment to the action and I will post a sound clip.
Great job Kevin! Animal head?
It's gorgeous. I love the little carving on the headstock. I really like the look of those Thomas dulcimers.
