Scottish folk song about 2 star-crossed lovers, played on a dulcimer tuned CGc. Oh, and, yes, it is all the verses (I think.) I don't like the quality of the video. I can't seem to get the camera placed right, either, but here it is, warts & all.

A great recording that shows how well singing and playing the dulcimer go together! Thank you, Rob, well done!

Well, seems I have slipping on the "thank yous" for this one, so I'll go in reverse order.

John Henry, Like everything else about this instrument, it just takes practice. Of course I played guitar and sang while playing for 20 years before getting a dulcimer.

Mary... Yes, this is memorized. I learned it originally right after I got my 1st dulcimer. Glad you were able to get a "lesson" from it, and I'll try to do better with camera placement next time.

Carrie... Another long one, huh? I thank you.

Kevin.... I appreciate it!

John K... Thank you, Sir...It's a piece I've always enjoyed doing.... if for no other reason than it takes up a good deal of time in a show.

Patty.... I'll be doing a couple of others with vocals really soon, I hope.

Thanks to all of you for staying with me for 7+ minutes. Those ballads could get pretty lengthy, eh?

Will keep watching this Rob, I would love to be able to sing and play at the same time in a better way than I do, "where can I find......" I reckon there are some clues here !!

Wow, y'all are quick. Thanks Adrian glad you enjoyed it.

Gosh Frank, you're gonna cause my head to swell so I can't get my hat on.

I had forgotten about this old ballad 'til a few weeks ago. I had done it years ago right after I got my 1st dulcimer. I'm glad I re-learned it.

Great performance Rob - you have such amazing talent. I really like the slower paced Scottish/Irish tunes played on the dulcimer.
