August's Dulcimer is completed, and now ready for the strings and adjustments of the nut and the floating bridge.
This has been a fun project- I think a 3 string version is coming up.
The tuners i use are Gotoh Banjo tuners. They are really good.
For finishing, I found that the Minwax Wipe On Polly works really well for me. I usually give a few very light swipes and then hit it with 0000 steel wool or 400 grit sp and then one final light coat. It depends on the wood- Spruce covered a little different.
You are an extraordinaire builder. I love all the colors of the woods....and those are cute little black banjo or ukulele turners? Everything of this dulcimer is beautiful. With your wipe on poly, how many coats to you put on and do you sand with very fine sandpaper before the next coat? aloha, irene
Thanks Brenda!
Stunningly beautiful, lovely sound holes.
