I plan to convert the rosewood pegs to planet geared violin pegs next time I see them on sale. That table and I have been together 60 years. Helps me keep a grip on past memories . The dulcimer is going on two years, sounds like a classic oldtime instrument, that nasely sound that gives the dulcimer its charm... Bob

I imagine she has a strong voice. Wooden tuning pegs are neat. Sad for me, hand problems forced me to quit using instruments with wooden tuners.I've never seen a porcelain-topped table with such a nice pattern.

Thanks Robin, This is my first Galax style homemader. The body is 11 inches wide and 4 inches deep including a internal double back. The table is the oldtime porcelain top kitchen table from way back... Bob
Thanks everyone for your comments. I hope to post more about this dulcimer when I get time. Its only been strung up for three days. Everyday the tone is improving but its going to take a few months before the instrument gets its full voice. It took 6 months to build it. Now that my work shop is empty its time to plan the next dulcimer. Possibly a Pennslyvania/Ohio style... Bob.
That is one BEAUTIFUL piece of work!

Evidence of some loving attention to detail there Robert, is it 'played in' yet?
