I like the comments, You need to be a licensed breeder to reproduce them. All the dulcimers on the table I built to the exact same dimensions. It was a golden opportunity to compare the sound of different woods, with all other factors being equal. I tuned all the dulcimers to DAdd and went around the table playing June Apple on each one. The big surprise was that all models shared 90% of volume and tone in common. Proves to me at least that its the design not the woods alone that make the sound... Bob.
Its a good job that there is a power of water between Bob Schuler's place and mine then, 'cos if ever 'his and and mine got at' it lordie knows what would happen, particularly as I seem to have a profusion of non hourglass instruments, many with a puzzling coat of what appears to be a dustlike substance ?

Can't call it a cubby of quails or a gaggle of geese but an obsession of dulcimer's sounds about right. Didn't have room for the teardrops. Thanks for your comment's... Bob.

Since they will be mixed breeds, instead of dulcimores, I thought I'd call them dulcimutts.
Good one Cynthia!
Yes, I'm hoping to breed a just intonation with an equal temperament and get a murder of mean tones.
Cynthia, so your intention is to breed them? I have never heard of dulcimers being made that way, and how many can you expect in a litter.
If this is true, I would like two please, a male and a female!
Nice.do you have a favorite?

My grandparents might have said that you have a "passel of dulcimers or a slew of them". Beautiful group no matter what you call it.
A 'Decent Dance Of Dulcimers' ?

What do you call a herd of dulcimers...... an obsession. Nice bunch of instruments, Robert
