Hello Jan, and thank you for showing interest in the photo. Meeting Jean was a privilege not shared by too many people over here, she showed genuine interest in those of us around her, awarm and caring lady. As for me looking good, lol, well, the best said about that is it was some time ago when I still had quite a lot of hair !!!

The dulcimer that John Henry is holding here is, believe it or not, an Ed Thomas dulcimer which belonged to Jean's friend, the late Peter Kennedy (the folk song collector) who brought it along to this meeting at Dursley. The Thomas dulcimer had been somewhat insensitively repaired and restored by an English luthier. For instance it had been fitted with a new raised fretboard resting on arches.
