Another beautiful reproduction, Kevin. We are blessed with several luthiers who specialize in very accurate reproductions. Even Charles Napoleon Prichard might have a difficult time distinguishing his own work from the reproductions.
All you fellas (off the top of my head, I can't think of any female luthiers making reproductions) who are making reproductions and/or using significant elements from pre-revival instruments are doing something wonderful in the mountain dulcimerverse. :)
Thanks, Robin, on the behalf of all of us fellas in the Honorable Order of Old Men In Sheds ("Hoomis"). There may be another Singleton dulcimer being built... somewhere. I've heard rumors... And a quick glimpse of a cherry heart inlay somewhere.

Kevin, yes they are nice. I use them when requested, but, dont tell me you are going to put them on the Glenn fulcimer. That would be a shame, Leonards dulcimers are getting harder to come by. Iwould like to find one myself. I do make reproductions of his dulcimers. Not trying to sell one just trying to preserve one.
I chose the Knillings for my fiddles because they seem to require the least modification to the instrument, hence it would be easy to return it back to the original pegs. They don't require any drilling, just a little peg hole reaming to fit. I agree with you about preserving older instruments, but I don't think this particular change would permanently alter the instrument. Anyway, I haven't done it yet and maybe I won't. I stay in DAd tuning all the time. Thank you for your input. I love the sound of this Glenn.

I changed the pegs on both of my fiddles to Knilling Planetary Perfection pegs. They are awesome! Once you switch, you'll never go back to friction pegs. My dulcimer however hasn't had that upgrade yet. Very soon though...
Niiice!

Thanks Rob. Those tuners are a good option for the wood pegs.
It's a purty one! Everyone's getting those new-fangled perfection tuners, eh? Maybe I'll have you retrofit one of mine with them.
