A new Tennessee music box that looks OLD...
This TMB was finished today, October 5, and will be staying in Michigan. My customer wanted a traditional poplar music box with a checkerboard on the back. But he wanted it to look old. So I worked it over with my secret "bag of tricks".
New cherry Galax dulcimer: "Gladness"
This is a cherry Galax dulcimer that just came out of my shop. It's name is "Gladness" (Psalm 100:2), and will be sent to a lady in Roanoke. Jacob Melton used to build this style of dulcimer, but I changed the soundhole shapes for my customer.
Will Singleton Dulcimer "Bountiful"
This is my own "June dulcimer", named Bountiful, a word which is taken from Psalm 13:6. It's a poplar Will Singleton replica with maple pegs and a walnut nut and bridge. It's winging it's way to a new owner now.
Walnut Thomas dulcimer "Peace"
This was completed just today in my shop. The verse is from the book of Isaiah: "Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee because he trusteth in thee." It's all walnut with hand-carved tuning pegs.
