Thanks Cheryl and Dusty. The thumb work comes from always trying to hold down as many strings of the ringing chord for as long as possible which keeps it ringing and so playing is much smoother. That's why fingerings are so important. Every time you lift your fingers to switch chords you lose your sound.
Whoever made up that expression to be "all thumbs" never watched you play, Linda. Your phrasing is exquisite, but most impressive here is the soft, precise, and quick touch of your thumb. Just beautiful playing, as always.

A lot of his stuff can from 4-8cross string. His patterns are all similar I figured out after learning a few. I did a book of his tunes and have enough for another just gotta get to it.

I found playing across the strings on a lot of his stuff like the very first few bars of Burke really helps with speed. I was going up and down the fret board which wasn't workin for speed. Then I found if I just planted the 4 -5-7 ( calling melody first) reverse stretch chord I could do the next 3 or 4 measures there with only moving my thumb once. So I started looking for others and they are everywhere.
I love them all too. I'm working on playing a very tough arrangement of Brabazon. It's going to be a little while before it's up to speed!!!!
