Poor Ellen Smith, learned from an old New Lost City Ramblers 8 track. Played on a Folkcraft walnut teardrop dulcimer tuned DAdd, 4 independent strings.
Absolutely wonderful Rob . I do enjoy your playing and singing!!! I've had troubles with video/camera similar to this. One time my white balance was set wrong for the light conditions. You might want to check your exposure settings too. Many times my camera which resides with a lot of junk in my bottomless pit, purse, will have the setting dial moved. I think it gets moved accidentally when I put it in my purse. The dial is easy moved.
Yep...that's a keeper. Nicely done (and great hat)!

Hey Rob, that was just great. I love the sound of well played and well sung folk music. That was a toe tappin' good time. Great job!
Lisa, it's one of mine, too. I hadn't done it in years, and had to glance at the computer screen to make sure I had the words right.
Thank you, Carrie. Hope to post a new one every day this week, and maybe with a different hat in each of them. Before I knew what was "right" (notice the use of quotes) I played like that a lot.
Jim, glad you liked it. Maybe I should do one focused on my hands to show that strum.
Robin, means a lot coming from you! Thanks a whole heap.
Sam, glad to enjoyed it too. I certainly enjoyed trying that old one again!
Folks, I'm sorry about the light, or lack of it. Everything is the same as all my other videos; I really don't know why this one is so dark. Also, I'm sorry I didn't get more of the dulcimer in the pictures. I'm using DAdd with kind of a clawhammer approach to try to get an old time banjo-like quality. Hope that come.s out
Fine, fine, Rob-- one "fine" for the playing and the other for the singing!
Hope no kitty had to be run out of that hat first.

Ron, I really love your playing, and love your voice also. That was excellent. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you, Dana. It felt "GREAT" doing it.

Oh I like that!
I think it worked out quite well, Rob. I like it a lot.
Sounds great Ron, one of my favorite old ballads.
