You know Bobby, my 'Elizabethan Garden' traditional style epinette des Vosges is 1/2 inch longer in scale than this travel dulcimer you're playing.  If your fretboard was at the edge near the player rather than in the middle of the soundboard, you might be able to call this a 'bouted epinette' !  Laugh

 

It's got a great voice for such a small dulcimer.
