Don Patrick
12/19/24 07:51:28PM @don-patrick:

Thanks for the warm welcome.  Wayne Henderson from Carlisle, PA, got me hooked on the mountain dulcimer several years ago (after my wife had repeatedly encouraged me to give the dulcimer a try).  This is my first stringed instrument and although rhythmically challenged I seem to have a pretty good ear and enjoy playing.  We lived in Carlisle from 2015 to 2020 and played with Wayne and his wife Elissa.

We currently have 2 dulcimers made by Wayne and one made by Benjamin Stone.  The latter had been dropped and the neck broken.  Wayne was able to masterfully repair it and added mechanical tuners....I didn't have much success with the original tuner pegs.  It's a wonderful instrument.

Are there any dulcimer players near Warrenton, VA, that would like to get together and play.  I'm an advanced beginner.  I'm also a Patron of Bing Futch which allows me to share any of Bing's TAB music and MP3 recordings with folks I play with.

Thank you, Richard. I'm hoping I can find a new group to play with down in the Hickory/Granite Falls area when we move down there in the spring.

Also, if there are any players in the Central Ohio area, I wanted to let you know we have a new group that is meeting. Visit Buckeye Strummers on Facebook for info about our next meeting and the tab that we will be playing.
