Robert do you have Galax for sale really love the one you'r holding in you picture.
Hi Robert. I was wondering if you were still making the possum boards.
Yes Robert, the exciting part for me is I have accomplished my goal of purchasing my 2 "Dream Dulci's" straight off, it will really add to my learning how to play.
And also, too finding the 2 of my favorite Luthier's whom I trust, being in the situation of buying with out seeing and playing who I will work with again in my Dulci Journey.
Thanks for being a part of my Journey!
Hi Robert,
Want you to know I now own 2 of the "Top" MD's on this site, My "Dream" dulcimers, thank you. I have been practicing and hope to do another video with my "ButterNut" very soon.
Oh I enjoy the sound and playing it very much thank you, You are Top's in my mind!
Friday I will receive my Thomas replica, walnut, mean tone with perfection tuners; built by Kevin Messenger. I am so excited he is another master at his craft and is a pleasant guy to work with, as you are.
I want you to check out the sound clip and picture of the Thomas replica Kevin did for me, it is sweet!
I am very happy I bought the ole' time look and sound, as traditional as possible and I am happy and appreciative you are part of my Dulci Journey!
Best Wishes.....Lexie
Thanks Robert, not so good at playing, but I practice as much as I can to learn to make my lil' butternut sing it's prettiest. Keeping it simple and working up to do another video.
I appreciate your beautiful skills of building and playing.
Keep on strummin' the sweet sounds
Congratulations Robert, on the JI dulcimer you made for Cynthia!
I am excited for her to get it and it has a very sweet sound. I told her today, that the pictures aren't the same as holding it in your hands and actually being able to play your dulcimers. I think you have made them great and I am so fortunate to have one of yours which I enjoy each day, I couldn't be happier with it.
I know Cynthia is very happy with your work also and have to think that maybe I had a little to do with encouraging her to buy it then with your JI idea put it over the top. Which is so exciting!
I wish you well on all of your builds and really enjoy hearing you play them.
Lexie
Hey Robert I didn't expect to see /hear Hawks n Eagles on here.
In case you do not have them here are Ian's original words
We were there when he first performed it in Edinburgh and at the Glenfarg debut!
As I was walking down the road,
I met my brother with a heavy load
I said to him what have you seen,
He said to me
I have a dream.
In 1960, I thought I'd died in Sharpeville's bloody town,
But I got up I walked on tall nobody's goin' to put me down.
Hawks and eagles fly like doves (x4)
As I walked out along the way
I saw my sister bend and pray,
I said to her why do you kneel,
She says you don't know how I feel.
I had a little boy and a little girl,
I loved to watch them grow.
But they were butchered on the streets in the blood of Sowetto.
It's '85 and I'm walking still,
Across Uitenhaage Hill,
Saw a crowd set off at the dawn of day,
The soldiers said don't come this way.
Then somebody threw a stone as they walked up the track
A boy on a bike was the first to fall with a bullet in his back.
It's been a long, long hard road,
Three hundred years since the settlers strode
Into that Southern land,
Now they rule with an iron hand.
Low pay, no vote and passbook laws,
Don't talk back they say.
But the hawks and the eagles will fly like doves,
When the people rise one day.
Ian Walker
Thanks for the reply Bob, every now and again out of all the 'dulcimer sounds' to be heard on this site I hear one that I really like, that last one of Bobby R's for instance, and now yours, makes me wish that I had made it !!! (how is it strung?)
John
Enjoyed that Bob, what instrument were you using ?
