That's a beauty there JK....& you'll know exactly how to make use of it. You've got a really nice menagerie of dulcimers dude. Since you posted this pic I've dusted off my dulcimer with all the frets and have been framming on it.
Don't worry, John. When you find out that Rob's right and you have gone fully to the dark side, I'll be glad to take your diatonic dulcimers off your hands.
And I didn't mention it before, but Pigasus is a brilliant name!
LOL Rob (and thank you)! It isn't intended to "replace" anything, but there have been some songs that Karen and I have been writing lately that require notes voiced in a particular way that just aren't possible with the standard layout. Besides, you can play the fast part of "Freebird" with this one!
That 1+ fret is truly a gateway drug and now you've gone and done it; you've really gone and done it. Snap out of it, John. Come on, Brother, it ain't a guitar! I prescribe 1 pure diatonic instrument with staple 1/2 frets for a whole month, then you can have full frets again. Oh and only ionian, aeolian or dorian tunings for 3 full months.
Seriously... it is pretty even if it has too many frets.
I've seen this somewhere before. In fact, someone called it sexy. You could have had the pig face us, LOL. I guess we get to see the end of it and you'll never hear the end of it, LOL . It must be past my bed time . All kidding aside John, it is very pretty. I look forward to seeing a video of you playing it and I hope soon
There's a little trick that we had them install. I'll post a better picture, but the frets that we are used to seeing already are highlighted by little "dumbells" inlayed in sugar maple to lessen the confusion where the new "to us" frets are located.
Thanks Randy, and that's neat to hear! I'm getting used to it slowly but surely! I look forward to hearing what you come up with!

The only thing that I have found that sounds bad on it is me so far lol!
Wow!!!!!
More suited to Pink Floyd than Skynyrd, perhaps?
Dusty, the father of Richard Ash (Folkcraft owner) came up with the Pigasus name...he done good!

Very cool. I love it. (But I do get dizzy looking at all those frets.)
