Linda! My my my. Absolutely amazing. I stand amazed. This was the first time I have listened to you play, and I am stunned. I must have been lost in some kind of wonderland to have missed you. I am humbled that you have taken some of your precious time to help me with tuning and chord arrangement. My goodness you are incredible.
Thanks for sharing.

After my son was killed in a car wreck we did this at his funeral. It was weird because I was looking for a home church, and every ch I visited for awhile played It is Well. I play flute in ch every Sunday now and usually get the songs for the week by email. On memorial weekend , which is when we buried him 17 yrs ago, I walked in and there was a note that one of the songs had been changed to It Is Well - so I guess He is Well.Glad you liked it. Have the tab if anyone would like it.
Thank you Linda. This is very special. It was the hymn that Nanny had chosen long ago to be sung at her funeral. It was and it has remained withme since. Your beautiful music is greatly appreciated. I must comment on your dulcimer as well. It is absolutely stunning!

Ty Gayle, no I never use picks. Mainly for 2 reasons... First I don't like the picking sound that picks make but more the finger style guitar sound. The other is I don't just pick all the time. I sometimes play single notes, soft strums, outer string plucks as well as finger picked patterns. I think this gives the song more interest and texture. With fingerpicked on you can't strum but must pluck up on the strings. I pull the dulcimer up against my body anchoring my pinky on the outside of the fretboard which gives me more leverage for louder playing which seems to always be the complaint of fingerpickers. Also for less choppy playing keep your left fingers on the strings till you are forced to move them. You lose your sound when you release the strings.
Thanks Linda Joe for bringing out the beauty of that hymn
and the beauty of the dulcimer. You have inspired me to want
to take my dulcimer playing to another level.
Actually James that is a Bob McGowan tiger maple with a spruce top.
Linda, I really enjoy this rendition of It Is Well With My Soul. I'm sure this is a McSpadden, which woods and body style?
Ty Glynda. Not as hard as it looks. My favorite as well.
