I've truly liked this song since I checked out a record at the library that had it on there. It was one of those like smithsonian folk compilations or something & if I remember right it had a guy singing with a dulcimer. I googled for it but couldn't find it.I bought a new dulcimer! Kevin Messenger made this Prichard replica. I got it a few days ago and am still getting acquainted with it...like where it likes to be tuned, strong points, string gauge, action set up etc....it's fun!I'm hoping this dulcimer will have some different layers of flavor than the ones I make and will inspire me to....uh.....who knows what.... : )Check out those carved tuning pegs!...and the peghead....it's truly exactly what I was hoping it would be....maybe Kevin has some pics....he's a heckuva lot better photographer than I am.
Really like this Randy
Randy, you and that dulcimer seem to become good friends. That is some very fine playing indeed!
Strange not seeing you with your home-made dulcimer, but you do a fantastic job with this Prichard replica. I too had never heard this tune before now, so will have to hunt it down to maybe give it a shot.
Fabulous Randy, Seems you are doing your style on the Prichard just fine, making it sing out.
I also have not heard this tune. Great that you got a beautiful new dulcimer.
Loved it, still the same Randy style playing, just a bit different !
thanks for sharing

That's an interesting tune. Sounds good!!! I like that new dulcimer of yours
Randy, glad you finally connected with the Prichard. You make it sing sweetly. That was a new tune for me also.

"The dulcimer sings a sweet song."
Randy ,That was the first time I had heard that tune, I like it. The action I did set a little high to give some adjustment room, and for the strings ,with that shorter VSL you should be able to go a little lighter if you want. Sounds like you two are getting to know each other pretty good, it will only get better from here i'm sure.
Beautiful Randy, and a bit different in spirit. It will be interesting to watch where you go with this. Really lovely sounding dulcimer.
