Thank you to all who commented! The "implement" came from Jean & Lee Schilling's shop in Cosby, TN. I thought it was a noter; it looked interesting; so I bought it. However, as you can tell by the thickness (or lack thereof) and length it doesn't make a very good noter. I wasn't until I saw this John Molineaux video on youtube, , that I had any idea for what it was really intended. I had heard something at least like it on Judy Mahan's "Folksongs of Old Erie," which if anyone has a digital copy of it, please let me know; I need to re-learn "Rocking the Cradle." After going back to Jean & Lee's shop, I found a normal noter and have used it since for noting and the "hammer" for beating. Hope this is helpful, any other questions, just ask.
I love this I was wondering when the bag would re-appear What kind of pick is being used? I like the way the pick is used to hit the strings. I never thought of that. It must be hard to play with a bag over the head. Good job!!!
Nice RN! I, too, was wondering when the bag would reappear. Where is it off to next?

Love it Rob, thanks for the laughs and I'm also impressed with the playing! What is the plectrum?
Cheryl...if the bag is too small, there's still a way lol... http://mountaindulcimer.ning.com/video/bigfoot-got-a-whoopin
Mandy, that's hysterical! I never missed the heads until now........
I'm guilty of headless videos too! But if I back my laptop up far enough to see my head you won't hear my dulcimer. So its either head or sound!
Ya'll make me laugh!

Haha the unknown dulcimist! Where O Where will the show up next??????
Rob great job, I am planning on tring to go Pattyt fest. You will have to wear the bag so I can find you there. LOL
Wayne was kind enough to explain the bag situation to me. So I'm changing my comment.
That's really funny AND totally frightening!
Great job, Rob, I'm glad to see the bag is going to use again. Make sure to pass it on!
Kinda gives a new meaning to "hammer-ons" lol! Nicely done!
He had a bag over his head??? He had to hit the strings, he couldn't see them!
Who was that masked man?
It's been an age since I used an implement to strike the strings. So glad you did it, Rob ; you've got me wanting to do it again.

What a lovely bag! (and I'd recognise that voice anywhere !!!)

Not sure who's more hammered, the dulcimer or the musician !!!
Rob just wish I could do half as well with both eyes and in broad daylight.
Totally frightening. :) :)
