Floo'ers o' the Forest, played on a Scheitholt.
I believe I have the tune wrongly played, so pardon my liberties with this beautiful tune.

Hi Elvensong, thanks- and yeah I like playing this instrument a lot, though I just cant do much more than strum it yet!

I have tuned  mine (6 strings) to DGdDGd at this stage of exploration. I would love to hear some of your tunes and tunings :-)

Beautiful tune Bob. I LOVE the scheitholt and it sounds like you've built a wonderful instrument!

I've only had my scheitholt for a couple of months but there are so many possibilities with tunings! I'm currently playing EGEEEADD on my 8 string.

Thank you Cindy.

The tune is a very old Scottish lament, often plaid by a piper but only at a funeral... a long piper's tradition. I thought the Scheitholt might capture some of the somberness of the tune.

I don't know the tune, but this is certainly lovely!  Beautiful instrument and beautiful playing!  Thank you for sharing!
