John, I'm thinking of putting up my own rendition of Farther Along, and when I do that, I usually do a search to see how many versions have already been done. I found yours and really enjoyed it....you build to a more full sound each time you go through it and I loved the strum variations.Nicely done!
Good morning folks and thank you all for listening.
Marion and joaquin, yes GGd, I had been messing with bagpipe tunings after putting on new strings and sorta fell into GGd 'by accident, but be careful, that bass drone is likely to be at its limits. My dulcimer has a 28" Vsl, and I have a .023 pb string on it ? You may also be picking up on the subtle effect of the mean-toned tuning (says he with evil chuckle )
Randy, don't know about the master bit? Maybe its me 'and trembling as I realise that you, who is a master of the noter, might be listening, lol?
Wayne, I hav'ent done a search on the hymn, where would I find it (its certainly not in our C of E hymnbook lol)
Dave, the 'progression' was also almost by accident, really just my way of playimg in those new strings?
Janene, thank you for the comment ! I always enjoy the stuff that you put up, and look forward to seeing you 'Farther Along '
John

Scott, have you tried singing along to the tune as you play, I find that to be a help in some instances?
my regards

You get a beautiful tone and feel to that piece!
You've captured the spirit of this piece wonderfully.
