A lot of dulcimers are hung on walls, but the walls should be interior walls away from direct sunlight and furnace vents. Instruments will dry out during the winter months whether on walls or stands. Humidifiers place around the house will help.
Thanks Macy I'm wondering if I should hang it up on the wall. Right now I have it in its case on top of my dresser. I'm not sure the best place for it when I'm not playing it. My husband asked if anyone makes stands for a dulcimer sort of like for a guitar.
Thanks, Macy, folkfan, and Geekling for your comments and advice!!!
Thanks John!!! I guess I should have posted a picture of the back of it . It is really pretty. I'll have to do that soon.
That's a beauty!

yes, look on ebay for dulcimer stands, there's a nice one. I heard you shouldn't hang them on the wall, they will draw out moisture somehow
