Cynthia, I'll send you a friend request if I haven't already and you can pm me with your questions. It's really a very simple instrument. The kids had fun putting their canjos together. My original plan was for us to build dulcimers. Backyard Music provides cardboard dulcimer kits. The parents didn't want to spend that much money even though it would have been about under $40.00 with a quantity discount. I did order a cardboard dulcimer kit and put it together. When the parents heard the difference in the sound some of them wanted to do a dulcimer next time around. One string is nice but three are better
John H., notice how the dog is on the couch, the back end of the dog. I made several attempts to get the dog off the couch and to stay off but was unsuccessful as you can see. This is the best part for you Spam lovers. My husband loves Spam and makes a sandwich with it on a regular basis. One day he got his sandwich too close to the dog. The dog in about 2 seconds grabbed the Spam and ate it. So we have another Spam lover in the house and I do believe the dog is protesting my dislike of Spam, LOL
Always good to see what other makers are up to, thank you Patty! Robin makes a good point about the shape of the tin, and Spam might give a fuller, fattier, sort of sound than peas or beans ? (polite comment on this only, please!)
Thank you all!!! I'm excited about this project with the kids. I'll let you know how we progress. I'm hoping we'll be able to learn a couple of songs in time for the 4H talent show. And I do love that hat I can see why the Spam can might work but not for me, LOL

That sounds pretty good, Patty. Ya done good.. I think your group ought to have a good time with those.
Yay Patty!
Hey, Wayne, you might just have something there-- a Spam can might make strumming easier than a round can!
Cool project, Patty! Y'all have fun!
Forgot to mention that it comes with a pick and a popsicle noter. Yes, that's right a popsicle noter
