So glad Kim posted this in "Inspiration" in the Singing group! Love everything about this, Rob! Sure wish I could play & sing at the same time. Y'all who can do it truly inspire me.
And....that Little Rosewood Casket you put up on the music player is something else. Kinda scratchy, a little distorted, sounds like a 78....and played just right. Like it lotsnlots.....love the sound....

What a great dulcimer! You did an awesome job with that song Ron...Sounds great!
Well, shucks! I don't know how to thank everyone except by saying a great big THANKS. Lisa, thank you. I'm a-getting simpler as I get older. There's no need to do more than is necessary; the hard part is finding out what is necessary. Robin C... Those words coming from you are humbling to me. Carrie, the voice of the instrument is the same regardless, sweet and bell-like. The table does give it more volume (as if it needed any more LOL.) Wayne... Glad to have provided entertainment in multiple ways to y'all up in the far nawth today. John P, we learn how to make adjustments and just keep going, don't we. John E, Bobby, John K, Patty, and Jim many thanks for listening and your lovely comments. Last and certainly not least... Kevin, thanks for making such a great instrument and for letting me demo it! Not only is it a cute little thing, it also plays and sounds like a dream come true.
Totally aside from what a nice dulcimer it is though- I really like this video because it shows how folks can play a really simple backup while they are singing a verse, and then play the full melody whenever they are not singing. I think so many stumble over trying to play the 'whole shebang' even while singing.
You show us here just how easy it can be, if you relax and simplify.
Great job RN. I always love your playing/singing. Thanks for sharing this.

That instrument sounds great, thanks for sharing this!
Good all around Rob. Kevin's dulcimer is fantastic. You've done an admirable job with this tune both playing and singing. Made my day buddy.

Rob
Rob, Thanks for a great demo, I love the choice of song, quite appropriate.
OMG! Listen to that dulcimer ring!!!!!
Rob - I loved the way you played and sung that song - it was an inspired choice for a demo
Kevin - that dulcimer has THE sound - you've got the Mawhee spot on
Robin
Well played Rob, and good sounding instrument.
Neat little flick at the start of the last verse to get re-balanced. It's always the top end I need to readjust with a finger in the soundhole
Sounded great, Rob. Nice volume to the dulcimer.
Rob, sounds great.

That dulcimer sure has a great sound for noter/drone (nice singin' too)!
Rob, great! I love the sound of that Mawhee!
